Do your homework. The field of coaching is emerging, which means that a coach's right-to-practice is not governed by any credentialing body and even it it were, the quality of your experience and outcomes will be dependent on the "fit" between yourself and your coach. Any coach worth their salt should offer a free session so that you can get to know them and they you - take advantage of that, worst case scenario you get a little clearer on what you want (for free) and best case scenario you find yourself a fantastic coach.
